Author: Chip Winslow Excerpt from the Town of
Selectmen Meeting Minutes - BRENTWOOD BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES OF 7/6/04
Convened: 6:30 p.m. Present: Ed Berry, David Menter, Robert Gilbert."There were
many Windsor Meadows condo owners here to see the board about trash collection.
They feel that they pay taxes and should have their trash collected by the town.
The Selectmen agree but they want the Condo documents to be amended since they
now state that the condo assn. is responsible for trash collection. Tom King,
president of the condo assn. said they are in the process of interviewing
attorneys to review and revise their documents. Berry said the town will
continue to collect the trash and will give them 90 days to make the
revisions...but, if they need more time to come back to the board for an
extension. Mrs King said that, last week, her recyclables were put in with the
trash. Berry told her that the Board has met with the trash collector and he was
told that the recyclables cannot go in the trash. Berry explained that it’s
better to recycle paper than plastics since paper is heavier and reduces our
tipping fees. Mr Hussey will be called to come to another selectmen’s meeting to
discuss more problems. Berry then read a letter which will go to all the condo
owners stating that the units are to remain 2 bedroom units, that no expansion
is allowed. King said their management company has sent out a letter to one
condo owner and he will also speak to the owner. Berry asked the Condo Assn. to
assist the town in monitoring this "bedroom" issue."
